A top Denver executive has joined the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado (BBBSC) Board. Robert Edwards, Chief Financial Officer for Intertech Plastics and Intertech Medical, was voted in by the State Board of Directors during the June meeting.
Edwards became engaged with the organization in 2014 when he became a volunteer with the organization. He has been a Big Brother for over four years in the Community Mentorship Program. “Since 2014, I have become more passionate about the organization and have been increasing my search for additional ways to provide support to the organization, whether by monthly contributions, hosting a table at the Gala, hosting an Academy Awards Party benefiting BBBSC in my home, and even serving for a brief time in the Mentor 2.0 program,” said Edwards.
While Edwards feels being a Big Brother has been tremendously rewarding, he is ready to take his involvement with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado to the next level. “Becoming a member of the Board of Directors will allow me to utilize my experience on many fronts to add value to the organization,” said Edwards.
In addition to his work with BBBSC, Edwards served on the Colorado Steering Committee for the Human Rights Campaign for five years from 2011 – 2016 and spent time in the kitchen volunteering with Project Angel Heart from 2012-2013.
