Our Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado & Saunders 2019 Denver Day of Service was hosted with the Denver Broncos and Mile High United Way as one of the 22 projects occurring simultaneously around the city with more than 400 volunteers participating. Saunders employees rolled up their sleeves and had a blast making corn hole boards. The volunteer day was the perfect match of Saunders employees’ construction expertise as they cut, built and painted corn hole boards for the BBBSC Cookout for Kids Sake event. This Day of Service was launched as part of the Broncos’ commitment to improving lives in the Colorado community, and as part of their Broncos Huddle for 100 campaign. We were thrilled to participate in the Inaugural Day of Service with the goal of a successful day dedicated to volunteerism throughout the entire city!
Today’s 2019 Denver Day of Service event was especially exciting as it was the successful collaboration of nonprofit and corporate community partners dedicated to supporting our community through volunteerism, youth development, and support of one-to-one BBBSC mentoring year-round! Saunders provides annual support of the BBBSC mission, investing in our events and encouraging their employees to volunteer as mentors and Board Members as part of their commitment to building leaders and communities. Mile High United Way is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our youth and has been a longtime supporter of BBBSC, providing funding support as well as numerous resources for our matches and families. The Denver Broncos became a new partner to BBBSC this year with their new inaugural Community Grant Program. The National Football League is also a new Big Brothers Big Sisters of America partner across the nation through their Inspire Change platform, which showcases the collaborative efforts of players, owners, and the league to create positive change in communities across the country.
