Hello, my name is Michael and I have been a Program Specialist on the Sports Buddies team at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado for nearly two years.
Tell us something that is unique about you: If there’s anything I can do to help give kids who don’t otherwise have the means to experience expensive activities such as skiing or ropes courses have the opportunity to enjoy these adventures, I’m in.
Really challenging endurance feats such as skiing over 100,000 vertical feet in a day or lapping the Manitou Incline ascent four times in a row, climbing 796 floors and covering 17.5 miles without stopping provide an ideal fundraiser platform to amass the funds needed to provide those experiences for the BBBS Littles and their Bigs each year. Furthermore, my crew and I love an incredible physical and mental fitness challenge so it’s a win win!
If you won the lottery what’s the first thing you’d buy? My wife’s student loans! Followed by a new pair of skis, 3-4 more volleyball nets, 2 new broomball goals, a bowling alley and an ice rink. How much money did I win exactly?
Tell us a fun fact about yourself: Every day for the last 8 years, I’ve written down one word that captures something I did that day that I’m proud of. If I have to think too long about my Word of the Day, I know I’ve got to step up my game!
