BBBSC Stays Connected: Jacob and Steven

Congratulations to Jacob for winning the George W. Gallup Memorial Scholarship for 2020! Jacob will be attending the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs next fall and pursuing a career in sports medicine. He has been a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado (BBBSC) since 2013 – he was matched with his first Big, Mick, for a little over a year and then he has been matched with his current Big, Steven, since 2015!

This is what Jacob told BBBSC about his experience in the program, My experience as a Little has been amazing.  My dad passed away when I was in the 5th grade and BBBS has allowed me to have a positive male figure in my life again.  I appreciate the time that my big, Steven, has taken out of his day to talk or hang out with me. I know he works hard to balance his home life, with his work life, with his school life, and the time he spends with me.

“Steven has been amazing, and I would like to thank him for everything.  I have enjoyed everything that this program has to offer.  BBBS has given me many opportunities to experience new things in my life, including a Broncos game, Virtual Reality and much more.  I could not thank BBBS enough.  Everyone that I have meet along the way has been so nice and caring.  They always put the Littles first.

“My plan, when I get older, is to give back and join this great program as a Big and be able to help someone who needs it.  Again, I want to thank everyone who is a part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.  They do amazing work by helping millions of kids gain access to caring adult role models to help guide and support them.”

Thank you for your support that is igniting potential in kids like Jacob and helping them realize their dreams. #BBBSCSTAYSCONNECTED
