Alumni Spotlight: Meet Pete and his three Littles

Pete and Novi

Pete’s first match with BBBSC took place in the early ’90s, where he was paired with Chris at the age of nine. This match lasted until Chris turned 18, a testament to the deep connection they shared. Despite now living in different states, they remain in touch, with their friendship standing strong over the years. Chris, who has autism, has been a source of inspiration and learning.

Devon, his second match, has grown into adulthood and is now a father to a daughter of his own. Their time together during Devon’s formative years left a lasting impact, shaping his journey into parenthood and the values he passes on to his daughter.

Pete and NoviNovi, whom he met when he was 12, holds a special place in his heart. When faced with the Covid Pandemic in 2020, Pete, Novi and Novi’s support system made the decision to end their match formally, but they have continued their relationship. Pete has since moved to Florida but that hasn’t severed his connection to his former Little. Now around 17, Novi and his mother recently visited him in Florida. Despite Novi’s cautious nature, their connection has flourished, highlighting the importance of patience and understanding in mentorship.

The adventures Pete has shared with all three of his Littles have been plentiful, from partaking in activities like ice skating, flying planes and connecting over meals. Pete emphasizes that the time spent together is what truly matters, fostering trust, growth, and cherished memories.

As an only child himself, Pete embarked on this journey with BBBSC to experience the world through a child’s eyes and witness their growth firsthand. His dedication and passion for mentorship have led him to become approved as a Big in Florida, continuing his mission of making a positive impact on young lives.
