On April 13th, 80 matches attended the annual ski trip at Eldora Mountain Resort, with many first timers! The Littles were able to take lessons in the morning then join their Big to explore the slopes as they pleased. The weather couldn’t have been better and the matches were even able to witness a Warren Miller “Pond Skimming” event taking place, where the participants dressed up in very fun and goofy gear!
This event is made possible with generous donations from The Dolven Ski Fund, Six Pack Sports, and Eldora Mountain Resort. The Dolven Ski Fund honors the memory of Tom Dolven, a Big Brother for over 25 years until he passed away in a skiing accident. Every year, Tom’s friends and family raise funds to support this event in Tom’s memory. Six Pack Sports hosts a biannual Million Vertical Feet fundraising challenge to cover the costs of this event specifically. This year, those who participated raised over $6,000!! Lastly, Eldora Mountain Resort donated necessary gear to make sure all Littles were properly equipped for a day of skiing. A huge thank you to all!!!
