Local Artist Donates Time & Talent to BBBSC!

Since Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado relocated their office to Englewood in 2017, the training room walls have been empty. Since this is often the space that potential volunteers first see at the volunteer orientation, we knew we wanted something special to stand out and showcase the incredible work we have been doing for over 100 years. And we did just that, thanks to local artist Tom Ward.

Tom has known about Big Brothers Big Sisters for a long time and said he truly values the gift of mentoring. When he was approached about donating his time and work to our office space, he felt it was the perfect way to give back. Tom said he wanted it to be a space that showcases the many possibilities of adventures that matches can have together here in Colorado.

Tom said he was really lucky growing up in a big family with a lot of people he could look up to.  His creativity was honored by his parents, especially his mom who let him paint murals in their house growing up.  “Big Brothers Big Sisters has always been one of those organizations that is doing good work.  This mural is me giving back in my own way,” Tom explained. He plans to continue to give back to BBBSC by hosting an art class for some of our matches later in the fall.  Thank you Tom for all of your creative energy and for being a BBBSC friend.
