Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to fostering positive change in the lives of young people. They do this through one-to-one Colorado youth mentoring programs.
We designed these programs to empower youth, build their confidence, and provide them with the support they need to reach their full potential.
A Commitment to Youth Empowerment
We believe that every child deserves a caring adult in their life. Hence, our mentoring programs offer a safe and supportive environment where young people can build strong relationships, develop essential life skills, and explore their interests.
Our Programs
We offer a variety of initiatives to meet the unique needs of young people. Each Colorado Springs Mentor program provides a supportive environment for growth and development.
Community-Based Mentoring
This program allows for maximum flexibility and customization.
Mentors and mentees can engage in activities that align with their shared interests, fostering a strong bond and providing valuable life experiences. It also includes exploring local attractions and participating in community service projects.
STARS Mentoring
The STARS (School-Based Tutoring and Mentoring) program offers a structured environment for mentoring relationships to thrive. Mentors and mentees meet regularly during school hours, focusing on academic support, social-emotional development, and career exploration.
This youth mentoring initiative provides a consistent and supportive space for young people to receive guidance and encouragement.
Sports Buddies
For youth passionate about sports, the Sports Buddies program pairs them with mentors who share their enthusiasm. This program also offers opportunities for physical activity, teamwork, and healthy habits.
By participating in sports together, mentors and mentees can build strong bonds while developing essential life skills.
Mentor Plus
Designed to support high school students as they transition to adulthood, the Mentor Plus program guides career exploration, college readiness, and professional development.
A youth mentor can help young people identify their career goals, develop essential skills, and navigate college applications.
In essence, each of these programs offers a unique approach to mentoring, but they all share a common goal—to provide young people with the support, guidance, and encouragement they need to succeed.
