How a Round of Golf Changes Lives
BBBSC matches young people (Littles) with caring adult mentors (Bigs) across Community-, Site-, and School-Based programs. In 2024, 1,534 youth relied on these relationships to build confidence, raise grades, and develop the resilience celebrated in BBBSC’s BRAVE values—Belonging, Resilience, Accountability, Vision, Empathy. Proceeds from the Big Impact Golf Tournament:
- Shorten the waitlist. Dozens of Littles are eager for a mentor; each foursome fee helps recruit, screen, and train the Big who will stand with them.
- Sustain match support. BBBSC’s professional staff check in regularly, provide resources, and ensure every Big–Little relationship thrives.
- Expand Big Futures. Funds underwrite career-readiness events—STEM Day, industry panels, job-shadowing—that help teens graduate high school on time and step confidently toward college or the workforce.
