Every dollar helps us carefully match Littles with the right mentors and provide ongoing support for their success.
Our One-to-One Mentoring Program
There’s nothing quite like the impact of mentorship. When you become a Big Brother or Big Sister, you’re not just a role model. You’re a friend, a supporter, and a consistent presence for a young person who wants one. Whether you enjoy outdoor adventures, exploring new hobbies, or simply having meaningful conversations, your time can inspire a Little to dream big.
Our volunteer program is built around one-to-one, professionally supported matches. Bigs and Littles typically get together two to four times a month, and every match is backed by a BBBSC program specialist who helps with activity ideas, guidance, and check-ins. Volunteers are 21 or older, complete a background check and training, and commit to at least one year.
You don’t need special skills or a particular background. Bigs come from every walk of life, and BBBSC welcomes volunteers of all identities and experiences. What matters is showing up.
Mentoring Opportunities Across Colorado
BBBSC serves youth in the Denver Metro area and the Pikes Peak region, including Colorado Springs. Matches are made based on compatibility and proximity, so you’ll be paired with a Little near you.
Denver Metro: Community-based mentoring and Big Futures career programming.
Pikes Peak region / Colorado Springs: Community-based mentoring, including partnerships with local military families.

Enroll a Child
As a parent, you know your child’s potential better than anyone.
By enrolling your child in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado’s youth mentoring program, you’re connecting them with a caring, consistent adult mentor who can offer support, encouragement, and new experiences. It’s a powerful way to surround your child with positive role models—at no cost to you.
There is absolutely no cost to enroll your child into the program.

Applying to be a Little takes a few steps, and we’re here to help you along the way.

Meet with an Enrollment Specialist to talk about your child's interests and what you're hoping for in a mentor.

We'll carefully match your child with a screened Big, then support the match every step of the way.

Every dollar helps us carefully match Littles with the right mentors and provide ongoing support for their success. Donations to BBBSC may qualify for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit, which can return up to 50% of your gift as a state tax credit.

What is the Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer program?
It’s a one-to-one youth mentoring program that matches adult volunteers (Bigs) with young people (Littles) ages 9 to 14 across Colorado. Each match is professionally screened, trained, and supported by BBBSC staff for the life of the match.
Is there a Big Sister volunteer program?
Yes. Big Sisters are matched with Little Sisters, and Big Brothers with Little Brothers, with care taken to honor the gender identity and matching preferences of everyone involved. Women volunteers are always needed.
Where can I find mentoring opportunities near me in Colorado?
BBBSC serves the Denver Metro area and the Pikes Peak region, including Colorado Springs. If you live in or near one of those areas, you can apply to volunteer and we’ll match you with a Little close to you.
What are the requirements to volunteer?
