Why Mentorship Matters

For over a century, BBBSC has been committed to youth empowerment through mentorship. Our programs:

  • Inspire Confidence – Mentors help children believe in themselves and their abilities.
  • Improve Academic Performance – Youth in mentorship programs often achieve higher grades, attendance, and engagement in school.
  • Build Meaningful Relationships – Many mentor-mentee relationships last a lifetime.
  • Strengthen Communities – Volunteer youth mentor programs foster stronger, safer communities by connecting people across generations.

The impact of mentorship extends far beyond the individual, creating a ripple effect of positive change across families, schools, and neighbourhoods.

Become a Mentor in Colorado

Join one of our youth mentoring programs and help a young person gain confidence, set goals, and build a brighter future. No special skills are needed—just a commitment to being a consistent and positive influence.

  • Community-Based Mentoring – One-on-one mentorship for youth ages 8.5 to 17, where adult mentors (Bigs) meet with their mentees (Littles) a few times a month for fun and meaningful activities.
  • Site-Based Mentoring & Sports Buddies – Matches meet at BBBS-facilitated events 1-2 times a month, including sports-based mentoring and new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) programming to introduce young people to career pathways.
