Dorsett, a Little in the Site-Based Program

The Site-Based Mentoring Program at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado (BBBSC) is a unique mentorship initiative designed to bring Bigs (mentors) and Littles (mentees) together through the joy of sports, outdoor activities, and (waiting on language from the Site-Based director).

Originally launched in 2000 to engage more male mentors and mentees, the program is now open to all genders and has been adopted by other Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies nationwide. This differs from our Community-Based Program, where matches meet on a weekly basis and solo. Bigs and Littles involved in the Site-Based Program will meet in large groups, and while you'll have one-on-one opportunities to spend time with your Little, as a Big, this commitment is a bit lighter and a great way to dip your toe into mentorship!

Expanding Impact with Bigs with Badges

In the Pikes Peak region, BBBSC offers an additional mentoring opportunity through Bigs with Badges. This program connects youth facing adversity with first responders—such as police officers, firefighters, and EMTs—creating strong, lasting relationships.

These connections provide:

Guidance and Support: Littles gain encouragement from trusted community leaders.

Community Trust: Strengthens bonds between families and the first responders who serve them.

Lifelong Benefits: Builds confidence and fosters resilience in the youth involved.

Make a Difference

Are you ready to inspire a child and help them discover their potential? By becoming a mentor through the Site-Based Program, you can make an incredible impact while sharing the joy of new experiences.
